History of OBIEE

Initially a reporting tool was developed by NQS company which was acquired by Siebel and they named it as Siebel Analytics.

Later in 2006 Siebel was acquired by ORACLE in 2010 and they renamed Siebel analytics to OBIEE 10g.

During 2011 a new version of OBIEE ie OBIEE11g was released into the market with lot of enhancements which made it as popular BI tool in the market now.

Depending upon their physical existence OBIEE components are divided into two types

i. Windows Based Components Like

Job Manager	To monitor Scheduled reports.
BI Publisher	To develop pixel formatting and standard reports.
Catalog manager	Deployment (Dev to test, Test to Prod)
Weblogic Server	Used to publish reports globally.
ODBC Client	To Write and Execute SQL
